Farewell message of Justin Dart

3 Jul, 2012  |  Written by  |  under Blog, Current News, Starkloff News

2012 marks the 10th anniversary of our loss of a great leader, Justin Dart, Jr. Justin called upon all of his colleagues who love justice, peace and equality to fight for the right of all people with disabilities to live full, productive, independent lives in their own communities. As we celebrate the independence of our nation, those of us in the disability community also celebrate our hard fought independence–thus far. Our fight is not finished. We press on. But let’s stop a moment and “listen to the voice of this old soldier” in a tribute to Justin Dart that was created by KMOV Channel 4 in St. Louis in 2002 at the request of Max and Colleen Starkloff. Justin calls upon us to continue the fight and never give up until we achieve the full emancipation and independence of all people with disabilities. This video was a gift to Yoshiko Dart and disability rights advocates who loved Justin.
