The Starkloff Career Academy fall course will begin on September 25th! There’s been tons of preparation and planning for the course, and it’s sure to be the best one yet.

Here are  five highlights that candidates can expect to experience:

5. It’s all about location, location, location.

The fall Starkloff Career Academy course will be eight weeks long and will take place at the Starkloff Disability Institute’s home office.  The office location is in close proximity to the ADA-compliant Stadium Metrolink Station. There will also be FREE parking options adjacent to the building for those that drive.

4. There will be tons of opportunities to learn from peers.

The Starkloff Career Academy is the perfect opportunity for candidates to learn and grow with others in the course. Each class will be onsite, so ample collaborative and peer-to-peer learning opportunities are planned throughout the course.

3. Scholarships are available to cover candidate course fee.

A candidate’s fee to participate in the Starkloff Career Academy course can be covered by Vocational Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Services for the Blind.  

If a candidate is not eligible through the program, they may apply for scholarship funds through the Starkloff Disability Institute.

2. Improv skills will be taught to Starkloff Career Academy candidates.

This year, the Starkloff Career Academy is partnering with the Center for Contemporary Art (COCA) to teach candidates best practices in public presentations and speaking. Candidates will also participate in an improv workshop that will help improve their skills in engaging conversations.

1. Nestle Purina, Enterprise and Wells Fargo hiring mangers will participate! 

Starkloff Career Academy candidates will spend ample time one-on-one with hiring managers from leading St. Louis companies, including Nestle Purina, Enterprise Holdings, and Wells Fargo.

Candidates will get to improve their resumes and practice important interview questions with hiring managers – all in a stress-free environment. They will also get to tour each company to learn about different career options.
