There is still time to sign up for Starkloff’s DREAM BIG Career Camp. Just fill out an interest form by July 4th to set up an interview. This is a great opportunity for students with disabilities to learn about careers they did not think were possible.
The program runs from July 16-20th, when students will be visiting five companies in St. Louis to discover career opportunities and life after high school.
Monday, July 16: Danforth Plant Science Center
Tuesday, July 17: Nestle Purina PetCare
Wednesday, July 18: Washington University OT School
Thursday, July 19: FleishmanHillard Inc.
Friday, July 20: Missouri History Museum
All students who have already attended the camp this summer have enjoyed their experience immensely:
“The reason I wanted to attend is to get a better understanding of skills for jobs and seeing if I was interested in any of them,” said one student. “It exceeded my expectations and it was a lot more hands-on and a lot more in-depth than I thought it would be.”
“I really wanted to attend to open my mind and wanted to see what opportunities I had and to see what other careers I could do,” said another. “I saw so many opportunities that I didn’t think about and that I didn’t know. I’m thinking about different opportunities now because of the camp.”
