Paws and People Teaches Students Valuable Networking Skills

Posted On:

DREAM BIG’S first Special Event, Paws and People Networking was a great success! DREAM BIG students and company partners came together on October 16 at Nestle Purina to network, build relationships and play with touch dogs from Duo Dogs. The goal of this event was to help DREAM BIG students learn to network in a low-stress environment, and to connect our company partners to potential employees.

Students played networking games and participated in a speed-networking activity to get to know mentors from some of our partner companies, including Nestle Purina, Riot Games, Fleishman-Hillard and Wells Fargo Advisors. Members of the SDI Young Friends also served as mentors at the event.

“Academic-year events such as Paws and People Networking are a great way for us to stay connected with our DREAM BIG families during the school year,” says Sarah Schwegel, Youth Transition Coordinator. “We’ll be offering a wide variety of events for students to become involved, informed, and empowered.”
