This past month we celebrated National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) by spreading the message that “St. Louis works best when everyone works.” This message on three billboards reached hundreds of thousands of commuters coming in and out of downtown St. Louis. Our Workplace Tips of the Day reached thousands of people on social media. Posters with positive images of people with disabilities in the workplace appeared in more than one hundred companies throughout St. Louis.

Colleen Starkloff “Talked Disability” at several top corporations and organizations in St. Louis, and gathered questions about how to make workplaces more welcoming to people with disabilities. Follow Colleen’s Facebook page and LinkedIn profile to hear her responses to those anonymous questions.

We hope that these efforts raised awareness and fostered the understanding that St. Louis does work best when people with disabilities are included in the workforce.
