SDI is excited to announce that Megan Lawrence, PhD will be the keynote speaker at our Workforce, Workplace Disability Summit. Megan is the Accessibility Technical Evangelist at Microsoft. It is her responsibility to spread the word about disability inclusion and accessibility on behalf of Microsoft. This special event will take place on December 14th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Saint Louis, MO.
The Workforce, Workplace Disability Summit incorporates some pieces from previous Workability Summits and broadens it to give even more great hiring information to Saint Louis area business leaders. This professional development event is focused on providing business leaders and human resource professionals the latest information on disability in the workplace, as well as the best practices for making corporate processes, operations and facilities disability welcoming.
Earlier in the day, November Champion, the Senior Online Accessibility Strategist for a local financial services firm will present how her company has made efforts to give their consumers the most accessible online experience in “What Business Leaders Need to Know About Web Accessibility.”
Guests will also participate in workshops and disability discussion forums. The small groups will discuss topics such as how to better recruit employees with disabilities, how to welcome a team member with a disability, and creating an environment that is disability-welcoming. Continuing education units are pending, provided by the Human Resources Management Association of Greater Saint Louis. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
A continental breakfast and seated lunch will be provided during the event.
