Federal contractors learned how partnering with Starkloff Disability Institute can increase their disability hiring on Wednesday, April 12. This is when the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and the St. Louis Industry Liaison Group (ILG) hosted the third annual disability outreach vendor fair at the University of Missouri- St. Louis Millennium Student Center.

This event connects the federal contractors with the resources and services of organizations like SDI. It also provides us the opportunity to show attending companies how we can support their recruitment and employment initiatives.

SDI staff members David Newburger, Colleen Starkloff, Lori Becker and Tina Vinson were on hand to meet with and advise attendees. Also assisting in the operations for this important event were Business Manager, Brian Chao and Marketing Intern, Katie Fields. This video also helps tell the story.

“SDI provides a wide range of services to companies who wish to welcome people with disabilities,” says David Newburger, Founder and Co-Director. “Every company is unique and has its own goals. This is why we work with them individually to create a plan that fits their needs.”

SDI’s position as the Workforce, Workplace Disability Advisor was well-received among the attendees. “Our distinction comes from preparing both candidates and companies for employment situations,” says Colleen Starkloff. “We are also unique in that all of our candidates have college experience or technical certification, and can work in competitive jobs in all levels of a company.”

Thank you to the OFCCP and the St Louis ILG for your promotion of disability hiring.
