Information Session for AAPD Fall Internship
This informational session will provide additional details about the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) Fall Internship Program and how to apply for Fall 2026. It will include a brief presentation, reflections from program alumni, and time for questions and answers.

Deadline to apply for AAPD 2026 Fall Internship Cohort
For over 20 years, AAPD’s internship programs have placed college students, graduate students, law students, and recent graduates with all types of disabilities in paid internships with Congressional offices, federal agencies, nonprofit, and for-profit organizations. In Fall of 2023, AAPD launched the Fall Internship Program as an expansion to our longstanding Summer Internship Program. AAPD’s Fall Internship Program is fully virtual and part-time, which makes it easier for disabled individuals to take part while they are in school or while they are balancing other work commitments.
Applications for Fall 2026 will close on February 5, 2026, at 5:00 ET.
The 2026 AAPD Fall Internship Program is 14 weeks long, running from August 31 to December 4, 2026. Interns will work part-time, virtually, for 15 hours a week. As part of the 2026 Fall Internship Program, interns will:
- Attend a virtual kickoff call on April 8, 2026
- Attend an optional in-person gathering in Washington D.C. during the week of July 20, 2026
- Participate in a virtual orientation on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM ET with breaks.
- Participate in weekly community events on Fridays between 12:00 – 3:00 PM ET.
- Connect one-on-one with a virtual mentor.
Applications includes: personal information, placement preference, essays, and résumé.

Missouri Botanical Garden Inclusive Tours and Classes
Access Tours: The Missouri Botanical Garden offers Access Tours of the Garden to the disability community on select dates. MOBOT is committed to providing an inclusive environment by ensuring the Garden is accessible to everyone.
- Tuesday, February 10, 2026: ASL Tour of the Orchid Show
- Thursday, February 17, 2026: Audio Description Tour of the Orchid Show
Many of these tours are free, but prior registration is REQUIRED. Inclusive classes at the Garden, Shaw Nature Reserve, and Butterfly House are listed in the current class schedule.
Adaptive Dance Classes for Children with Disabilities
Pack Dance (465 N. Taylor Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108)
This adaptive dance program offers a universally accessible dance class for children ages 5 – 18 with disabilities. Taught by Grace Mohr, an occupational therapy student and trained adaptive dance instructor, this class offers the opportunity for children of any ability to engage in dance.

STL Metropolitan Alliance for Reliable Transit (SMART) Meetings
These meetings focus is on building the power that we need to hold the Bi-State Development Corporation accountable to provide light rail, buses, and Call-A-Ride services that meet the needs of people with disabilities in St. Louis City and County.
