2024 Internship Intensive
The Access U Internship Intensive is specifically designed for college students with disabilities who are seeking internship opportunities.
“The Internship Intensive is indeed an intense experience, with a great deal of curriculum, but I’m also intensely grateful for it! All those unwritten rules of the job world, from resumes to interviewing to networking, and even how to disclose [my disability], are covered.
I feel so much more prepared to move forward in my searches for internships and employment after this week!” – Olivia
This cutting-edge program is led by a disabled career advisor who will teach participants to stand out as disabled job seekers and successfully navigate the internship search. Topics covered include:
- discussing disability with an employer,
- rights under the ADA,
- disability pride in the job search,
- creating competitive resumes and cover letters,
- networking and personal branding,
- preparing for interviews,
- requesting accommodations,
- identifying inclusive employers, and more!
The Intensive is four days, with each session building on the previous. Applicants commit to attend all four sessions.
